1  cup Water, boiled
56  g Instant Mashed potatoes

Topping

1/2  ounce Cheddar Cheese (aged), diced
1  small Green Onion, diced
2  tbsp Ghee butter, melted
2  tbsp Hormel Smoked Bacon bits

Savory Cheddar Mash Directions

  1. In a small pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil over a camp stove or fire.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in 56.5g (half a 113g package) Idahoan Instant Mashed Potatoes until smooth.
  3. Let it sit for 1 minute to thicken, then stir again.
  4. Top with 1/2 oz diced cheddar cheese, 1 small green onion (diced), 2 tbsp melted ghee butter, and 2 tbsp Hormel Real Applewood Smoked Bacon Bits.
  5. Stir gently to combine or leave toppings as is. Serve hot in a bowl.

Recipe Notes

  • For a standalone meal, use the full 113g Idahoan package with 2 cups water and double the toppings: 1 oz cheddar, 2 green onions, 4 tbsp ghee, 4 tbsp bacon bits.
  • Pack Idahoan mix, bacon bits, and cheese in sealed bags; pre-dice green onion at home for speed.
  • Melt ghee in a separate container or add solid and let it melt into the hot potatoes.
  • Idahoan’s small portions shine with toppings—adjust cheese or bacon for extra richness.
